Identify the type of credit
Some products use ordinary payment methods, while a libranza arrangement involves deductions under its applicable authorization and process. Do not assume that every pensioner loan is a libranza or that a deduction automatically makes the product less expensive.
Confirm the lender or provider, payment method, amount received, term, rate and all charges in the final documents. If an intermediary is involved, identify the entity that actually issues the credit.
Questions for a payroll-deduction arrangement
The official SFC materials listed below provide information about libranza rates, disbursements and RUNEOL. Use the current official publication when checking a concrete arrangement rather than relying on a generalized promise.
- Who is the creditor and who processes the deduction?
- What authorization is being granted and how can records be obtained?
- What happens if the pension payment or deduction changes?
- What are the total expected payments and optional services?
Affordability still comes first
A regular pension does not remove household expenses or other obligations. Review the remaining monthly income after every deduction and preserve room for essential costs. Do not accept a higher amount merely because it is offered.
Family members or caregivers should not pressure a pensioner to share credentials or accept unexplained documents. The person entering the contract should receive and understand the final conditions.
Compare any deduction with existing obligations and the pension payment actually available each month. Ask for a schedule that shows the start, frequency and end of deductions, and preserve the authorization with the contract.
If another person assists with the process, the applicant should still review the documents and retain control of identity and account credentials.
